I was watching the evening news and heard our premier commenting on the 2008 Budget feedback.
The opposition is saying this was BN’s ploy to regain popularity with the rakyat.
Badawi commented that it was a people’s budget but if the opposition want to say otherwise so be it. Badawi also mentioned that it was what the rakyat wanted so he had no choice but to give the rakyat what they wanted.
My question is WHY NOW? Why give back to the rakyat NOW? Shouldn’t this have been done earlier? Putting the country and its rakyat first as how it should have been? Think about it.
I had my performance review recently with my boss and one of his common remarks were like this.
“The goals stated here is common to everyone. It’s given. Everyone needs to meet these goals. What you need to do to excel in this company is more character-oriented. That is the only way to standout from the rest.”
In short, my boss was trying to tell me, “It’s your job. You HAVE TO do it. HOW you do it is what makes you special.”
I believe this applies to everyone and in this case our premier is not exempted. Giving the best to the rakyat is his job. THERE IS NO EXCUSE.
I can only imagine if the Yang Di-Pertuan Agung was in charge of reviewing the premier’s performance quarterly and the same words being repeated. WOW.
