It is a know fact that the fishcakes or fish balls which we consume almost on a daily basis consists of additives to make them ‘bounce’ better. In fact the skill of making genuine fishcake or fish balls is considered a lost art to the culinary world. Right next to Shaw Parade in Jalan Changkat Thambi Dollah, Kuala Lumpur, there is a shop which according to them still maintains the traditional way of making fishcake without additives – Ah Koong’s Eating House.
eatgod™ @ Imbi Wet Market Ah Weng Koh Hainanese Tea
It is a weekday. You are on leave because you need to clear it or else burn it before the year ends. You can’t sleep in and you get up early just like usual. You have nothing to do that day until later in the afternoon. Just when you least needed it, just when you have nothing on your to-do list and here you have it, a bright and sunny morning with no plans whatsoever. DAMN IT!
Well if that scenario so happens to befall you as well, you can consider hopping over to Imbi wet market for some good old Ah Weng Kor Hainanese breakfast! Here are the coordinates – 03° 08’37.5″ N, 101° 43′ 1.2″ E.
eatgod™ @ Salak South Fatty Mok Hakka Yong Tau Fu
A weekend with eatgod never goes by without good food. A few weeks back, eatgod brought me Salak old town for some YTF!
Yes it’s YTF – yong tau fu not WTF!. This place was not far from where we were staying, just around 5 minutes drive. Exiting Kuchai Lama and heading towards the highway, you would need to turn off the main road and up a ramp. Just past the ramp and you will find yourself in Salak old town. The shop is called Fatty Mok’s Hakka Yong Tau Fu. For your convenience, here are the coordinates – 03° 5′ 3.67″ N, 101° 41′ 40.91″ E.
