what the hell…? no friday funnies?

Chill… yeah I’ve been busy with work recently with deadlines coming up close. I’ve missed out on the usual Friday humor and I think I’m still short of at least 2 eatgod posts, especially the Teluk Intan trip and Kapar seafood. Man, if I were working in a publishing company I believe that company would have fired me already! Anyway life is like that, sometimes you have to prioritize some things and let go of some other stuff but definitely I won’t give up blogging here.

I’ll be going back to my hometown this weekend so just to keep myself on track here’s something to lighten up your day :)

These are from a book called ‘Disorder in the American Courts’ and are things people actually said in court, word for word, taken down and now published by court reporters that had the torment of staying calm while these exchanges were actually taking place.

eatgod@salak old town char siew rice

Craving for another artery clogging entry guided and fueled by the desire to locate this one undiscovered stall, I found myself and two buddies back in Salak old town hunting down what claims the be the most mouth watering char siew (barbecued pork) anyone could find.

It all started when our friend Win-son was on his wedding shoot in a junkyard nearby and his photographer’s aide bought them char siew rice for lunch. Ever since that day, my friend Win-son has been craving for this particular char siew rice but yet again he does not know the location of the stall. The only information he had was this – Salak old town. So the last weekend on a Saturday afternoon, me and my buddies went around Salak old town hunting for this particular char siew rice.

The place was not hard to find since Salak old town is really a small town and there weren’t many stalls selling char siew rice. We stumbled upon this shop called Kedai Kopi Tian Hong (in direct translation to Cantonese it sounded more like Tin Fook Cha Sat) and they were hanging up these delicious-looking char siew for sale along with some grilled chicken. We stopped by this shop being only half sure that this was the shop until our order arrived and Win-son confirmed that this was the shop with THE  mouth watering char siew rice. The shop was just located opposite the 7-11 in Salak old town with the coordinates of 03° 05′1.17″ N, 101° 41′46.65″ E.

don’t lie to kids

bigbird

There was this guy sunbathing in the nude at the beach and this little girl comes up to him so he covers his private parts with a newspaper.

The little girl says, ‘What’s under there?’

The man answers, ‘A bird.’

The girl goes away and the man falls asleep.

When he wakes up, he is in a hospital and in great pain. A doctor comes up to his bed and asks, ‘What happened?’
The man answers, ‘I don’t know. I was at the beach and I fell asleep after talking to a little girl.’

So the doctor tells this to the police, and they go to the beach to find witnesses.

When they get there, they see the little girl the man was talking about and they ask her if she did anything to the man.

She answers, ‘ I didn’t do anything to the man, but while he was sleeping, I played with his bird. After a while, it spit at me, so I broke its neck, burnt its nest, and smashed all its eggs!’

how to fail miserably in a con-job

My phone rang while I was having my lunch.

I picked up the call and was greeted by a man speaking broken English in a heavy Chinese accent.

“Good afternoon, is this Mr. Yen?”

“Yes, I am. May I know who is on the line please?”

“Hi Mr. Yen, I am calling ah to inform you of business opportunity with an Ahmerican company. I came back from Australiah and I am setting up a company in KL to trading with this ah company. May I know ah Mr. Yen if you are located in KL?”

I was kind of interested on what he has to offer but at this point things were getting kinda fishy since he did not introduce himself.

the fun theory

the fun theory

Have you ever wondered how you can do perform tasks differently? What about making dull tasks interesting?

Have you ever thought of adding some fun to your life?

Volkswagen came up with 3 videos where they added the ‘fun’ factor into three different tasks – climbing the stairs, dispensing used bottles in a recycling bin and also throwing rubbish. Yes! Even throwing rubbish can be fun!

It was interesting to see how the ‘fun’ factor actually affects people. It makes them more engaged and brings out the child in them. I myself didn’t realize that I was actually smiling to myself while watching the video!

You can view the video at the Volkswagen site TheFunTheory.com or view all three of them here.

Come on! Add some fun to your life!
