Me and a few colleagues were in a conference call today with a French lady and a German guy.
Both of them were from the business team in my company. They speak fairly good English but with heavy accents. We were discussing a tricky problem of getting a male connector into a port which would include an arc like motion and this was how the discussion went.
German guy: Ze konnector needs zo kome into ze port via an arck-like motion.
German guy: Yezh, I kan’t come straigtht because ze hole is blockged.
French lady: Jyou means jyou can’t comme straitght?
French lady: So jyou are sayingh that jyou cant comme straigtht because it tiz blocked?
German guy: Yezh ze konnector kannot gome straight.
German guy: I kan’t come straight bekoz the ole iz blockged!
French lady: How comme jyou can’t comme straigtht?
French lady: I still don’t gettit. How comme jyou can’t comme straigtht?
German guy: As I mentionged, ze konnector needs zo kome into ze port in an arck-like motion.
At this point we had to press the MUTE button so that the other end did not hear us laughing our hearts out. :P
